Kurt’s New 3-In-One Jaw System Saves Vise Setup Time
For Common Angle Cuts
NEW LOWER PRICE! $375.00
Now there’s a fast and easy way to set vise jaws at any of seven popular angles. Using Kurt’s new 3-In-One Jaw System, parts can be clamped precisely at 5°, 10°, 15°, 20°, 25°, 30° and 45°.
This new and innovative Kurt 3-In-One Jaw System increases the versatility of any standard 6-inch Kurt vise. It’s a simple, bolt on jaw system with a series of preset patterns with aligning pins. The jaws hold parts precisely like conventional jaw plates but with the extra benefit of allowing aggressive machining while clamping at seven different angles.
This Kurt 3-In-One Jaw System also doubles as a workstop with the additional benefit of acting as a parallel.
Overall jaw dimensions are 6” x 1.735” x 0.725” ±0.000787” (0.01mm) Multiple pins in the system include 4 ea. 6mm x 22mm; 3 ea. 6mm x 40mm; 3 ea. 6mm x 58mm and 3 ea. 6mm x 76mm. Pin sets have a dimensional tolerance of ±0.0007 (0.018mm).
“Kurt’s new 3-In-One Jaw System is ideal for small lot sizes and prototype work,” reports Steve Kane, global sales and marketing manager for Kurt. “The jaw system is a better and more cost-effective option than building a special fixture. It adds versatility to any existing standard Kurt 6-inch vise at modest cost.”

New Kurt® HDM690 Vise Has Full 9-Inch Jaw Opening – Repeatable 0.0007 Inch Clamping Accuracy
Kurt’s new HDM690 vise is the ideal vise for precision clamping very large parts for tool and die and production CNC applications.
Featuring a full 9-inch jaw opening, this new vise clamps larger parts with repeatable 0.001 inch accuracy and minimal stationary jaw deflection. Designed with a rigid stationary jaw, the vise features top-down bolting and a tall body design to reduce deflection.
High precision roller bearings and a specially hardened vise screw mechanism enhances precision clamping and smooth operation. The design distributes up to 6,000 lbs of clamping force evenly and precisely across the full jaw surface. Kurt’s AngLock® spherical segment in the moveable jaw (originated and patented by Kurt) further reduces jaw lift. The pull-type body design stabilizes stress in the vise body resulting in more accurate clamping of all types of parts.
Adding to overall vise rigidity while absorbing machining vibration, Kurt HDM 690 vises have 80,000-PSI ductile iron bodies with precision machined components. Together, these features combine for many years of trouble-free, precise clamping backed by Kurt’s exclusive Lifetime Ironclad Warranty.
Setup features of this new vise include: Stationary jaw bolts down from top. No need to remove from table to disassemble vise. Bolting the stationary from the top reduces the stress in the body and will stay flatter after assembly. Narrower vise body width allows for more vises in the work envelope. Bolts and locates directly on standard grid plates: 40mm, 50mm and 2 inch. Has quick-change movable jaw. This HD movable jaw vise platform allows for quick-change jaw carvability to hold flat odd-shaped parts.

Kurt Workholding Celebrates 50th Anniversary –
Grew From A Single Anglock® Vise Model
To Over 500 Different Workholding Product Choices
Minneapolis, Minnesota: 2010 marks the 50th anniversary of the Kurt AngLock Vise and Kurt Industrial Products. It all began with one vise model – the D60 AngLock and it quickly became the vise of choice by machinists everywhere because of its unique patented design.
“The Kurt AngLock vise was designed at the same time computer numerical controlled machines became the new manufacturing technology of the day,” reported William Kuban, CEO and son of the founder of Kurt. “It was truly a manufacturing revolution. Everything changed because CNC machines were smarter, faster and more precise. The AngLock vise provided the workholding accuracy and repeatability for these automated, high speed systems.”
From the start, Kurt was the industry leader and through the years developed many exclusive vise and workholding designs that defined that industry category. For its 50th anniversary, Kurt displays a special logo labeled the Kurt “360° Product Advantage”. The logo represents today’s hundreds of Kurt workholding product options. These include multiple station CNC vises, 5-axis vises, rotary table workholding, MultiChuck MMY static milling chucks, DockLock zero point clamping systems, a full line of tombstones for achieving maximum high density workholding and accessories to complement every workholding setup. Kurt is the exclusive worldwide distributor of NEMI vacuum workholding. Kurt also provides a full line of automated and manual gaging systems, SPC software and is a Fanuc integrator for automation.
During its 50 very successful years as the workholding leader, Kurt set new standards for quality, durability and precision. In 2002, it achieved the milestone of 500,000 vises sold with many of its first production models still in everyday, shop use. “We see those 40 and 50 year old Kurt vises on machines in shops all the time,” reports Mr. Kuban. “You can’t miss them because the bases are painted gray.” (Today’s Kurt vise bases have a blue finish so it’s easy to differentiate the new from the old).
Precision machined out of 80,000 lb PSI ductile iron, Kurt vises and all of the workholding products it manufactures are so durable and reliable that they are backed by a Lifetime Ironclad Warrantee. Numerous awards have been won by Kurt through its 50 years including international recognition for best vise and workholding brand.
“These achievements are made possible by our outstanding employee commitment through the years” reports Mr. Kuban. “Their continual dedication to precision and quality has moved us to where we are today and toward an even more promising future.”
Kurt’s 50-year milestone is underscored by a new facility Kurt moved into 24 months ago. The facilities include an impressive Automated Production system designed for eventual lights out manufacturing of many Kurt vise product lines.
“What’s most impressive about this system is that it incorporates a wide variety of Kurt workholding products,” reports Mr. Kuban. ”We utilize standard Kurt workholding, custom engineered workholding and towers, the DockLock system and automated custom engineered systems to put this cell together. We wanted to make this a showpiece of all Kurt’s technical abilities for present and prospective customers to see.”
Looking forward to the next 50 years, Kurt believes it has a very bright future. “Machinists, process planners and engineers, through continuous improvement programs, are continually upgrading workholding applications,” stated Mr. Kuban. “That means a growing need for new, innovative workholding designs. Kurt will continue to be the driving force for these innovative workholding designs.”
